Depeche Mode – Playing The Angel (CD)
Released in 2005, Playing The Angel marked a new creative era for Depeche Mode, produced for the first time with Ben Hillier. Twenty-five years into their career, Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher broke open new sonic ground with a rawer, grittier sound that fused the primal roots of rock with the pulse of 21st-century techno.
The album includes some of the band’s most enduring songs, including the hit single “Precious”, as well as fan favorites “Suffer Well,” “John The Revelator,” and “A Pain That I’m Used To.” A darker, edgier statement, Playing The Angel cemented Depeche Mode’s place as electronic pioneers still pushing their boundaries decades into their career.
